Privacy Policy

WebsiteBuilderReport.com (the "Site") is an independent publication that reviews website builders for specific business types. In this policy, "we," "us," and "our" refer to the team that operates the Site. You can reach us at hello@websitebuilderreport.com or via our contact page.
What we collect
We collect a minimum of data from visitors. Specifically:
- Analytics data, including your IP address (truncated), approximate country, device type, browser, referring URL, and pages visited. This is collected through our analytics provider in an aggregated form. We do not build individual visitor profiles.
- Email address, only if you email us or join a newsletter we operate. We use this to reply to you or deliver the newsletter. We do not sell, rent, or share email addresses.
- Standard server logs, including request time and URL, kept for security and diagnostics. These are rotated and deleted on a short schedule.
We do not collect names, phone numbers, financial information, or account credentials. The Site has no user account system.
Cookies and tracking
The Site sets a small number of cookies:
- Analytics cookies to count unique visitors and measure page performance. These are aggregated and anonymous.
- Affiliate tracking cookies set by third parties (Squarespace, among others) when you click an affiliate link. These let the platform credit us if you subscribe. We do not set or read those cookies directly; they are managed by the destination platform.
You can block cookies in your browser. Blocking analytics cookies will not affect the usability of the Site. Blocking affiliate cookies may mean a platform does not credit a purchase to us; you will still get the same price.
How we use data
- To understand which pages and business types are most useful to visitors, and prioritise updates accordingly.
- To reply to emails you send us.
- To monitor the Site for abuse, security incidents, or technical problems.
- To comply with legal obligations where they apply.
What we share
We do not sell, rent, or trade personal data. We share limited data only with:
- Our analytics provider, which processes aggregated data on our behalf.
- Our email provider, if you subscribe to a newsletter we operate.
- Our hosting provider, which processes standard server logs in the ordinary course of serving the Site.
- Law enforcement or regulators, if required by valid legal process.
Affiliate links
Some outbound links on the Site are affiliate links, principally to Squarespace. If you click one and subscribe, the platform pays us a commission at no extra cost to you. Your rights
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or a US state with comparable privacy legislation (California, Colorado, Virginia, and others), you have the right to:
- Know what personal data we hold about you (which is typically none, unless you have emailed us or subscribed to a newsletter).
- Request a copy of that data.
- Request deletion of that data.
- Object to processing for direct marketing.
- Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (for EEA/UK residents, your national data protection authority).

Children's privacy
The Site is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such data, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date at the top of the page indicates the current version. Material changes will be flagged on the Site.
